Caleb Buzard
Today we met up with candidate for PA Democratic State Committee, Mr. Caleb Buzard. Talk about an interesting guy. This fella has big plans for Erie County. And a welcoming smile!
Caleb gave us a tour of Erie County Democratic HQ.
Born and raised in Erie, Caleb made one thing abundantly clear, he’s passionate about public service (and his puppies, Emma & Andromeda). When asked about his plans for Erie County, he said “I hope to show people that politics is a good force for positive social change.”
Mr. Buzard is no stranger to public service; he’s been around politics since he was thirteen. Caleb attends the University of Pittsburgh on a Nordenberg Scholarship where he studies Political Science and Philosophy. Caleb’s actively involved in the Erie County Democratic Party. “Yep, I spend a lot of time here at the office at 13th and State, it feels like home,” he quips.
Caleb told us he has three priorities for the voters of Erie County. 1) “That Erie County Democrats have a message and program that resonates with voters.” 2) “That Erie County voters are represented fairly and evenly in the State Assembly; we need a supportive government system that hears us right here in Erie County.” And 3) “A 67 County plan, so that all counties in Pennsylvania are represented fairly and evenly in every corner of the Commonwealth.”
Caleb went on, “We need to be hopeful when we go vote. We need to increase the minimum wage and support our unions. We need to build a strong Democratic party and bring everybody along.”
Caleb is an avid reader; he quoted Thomas Jefferson today “I cannot live without books.” He’s also dad to two dogs, a German shepherd named Emma and a Husky named Andromeda.
The Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee (PADSC) is the governing body of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. Founded in 1792, the PADSC is charged with steering the direction of the Democratic party and organizing for Democrats across the ballot.
PADSC members, who are elected to four-year terms, meet in full three times each year. PADSC members elect party leadership, hold nominating conventions, pass and promote a party platform, and help lead organizing efforts all across the commonwealth.
